    Dynamic Neural Retraining System

I used the DNRS to recover from POTS in 2015 and was then well for three years. Unfortunately, it has not helped me to recover from ME/CFS. Nevertheless, I still think that the DNRS can be a very helpful program, particularly for MCS, EHS, classic fibromyalgia and POTS.

    Dr. Eleanor Stein's Courses

Dr. Stein's courses on neuroplasticity and on improving quality of life when you have ME/CFS are excellent. Clearly presented and insightful, there are also significant discounts for those experiencing financial hardship.

    Oxygen Advantage Courses

    A small tagline

The Buteyko method, a way of increasing the body's oxygenation capacity, has improved my quality of life as an ME/CFS patient. Patrick McKeown's courses at the above website offer helpful presentations on breathing retraining, largely based on the Buteyko method. Use code 'oaonlinecourse10' for 10% off any course.

    Supplements

    Normalyte

Above and beyond the most helpful supplement for managing my ME/CFS. Normalyte is a form of Oral Rehydration Solution specifically designed for ME/CFS and POTS patients. It can boost blood volume as effectively as a saline IV and, for someone with low blood volume, the difference can be gamechanging.

Books Which Have Been Helpful on My ME/CFS Journey

    Wired for Healing

    Annie Hopper

Annie Hopper's book does not contain much practical advice but is of great interest for the testimonials of recovery using her program, demonstrating the potential power of neuroplasticity. It was a very motivating read for me back in 2015.

    From Fatigued to Fantastic

    Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum

Although not focussing so much on reserach into ME/CFS, the book makes up for this by detailing many potential treatments for a range of sympotoms based on Dr T's long clinical career.

    Authentic Buteyko Books

    The Russian Real-Deal

The Buteyko method has been watered down in the west, sometimes to the point of being beyond recognition. In contrast, this book by Artour Rakhimov and this one by Sergey Altukhov give us a much more authentic presentation of the method. Rakhimov's publication of an original lecture by Prof. Buteyko is also worth checking out,

    Excellent Guides for Breathing Retraining

    Patrick McKeown, James Nestor

A trio of essential books for breathing retraining inspired by the buteyko method: The Breathing Cure, The Oxygen Advantage: and Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art.

    Recovering With T3

    Paul Robinson

A pioneering work by a patent advocate on treating a common - but little recognised - form of hypothyroidism. However, some - including myself - can run into trouble unless they apply the Circadian T3 approach, a further method also developed by Paul in his recovery from hypothyroidism and hypocortacalism.

Change Your Diet, Change Your Mind

    Georgia Ede

A wondefully lucid and breakthrough work on the role that ketogenic and carnivore diets can play in reversing - often completely - mental illness.

    The Carnivore Code

    Paul Saladino

Although Dr Saladino later renounced the carnivore diet (and I have my own ideas as to why he started to struggle on it), this book is the ideal handbook for understanding the diet's merits.

    The Perrin Technique

    Dr. Raymond Perrin

Pioneering work by Dr Perrin on treating the lymphatic and intertwined spinal issues in ME/CFS (particularly in the thoracic and cervical regions). I have benefitted enormously from this work and can recommend both the lengthy version and the concise patient handbook.

    Food & Western Disease

    Staffan Lindeberg

Over the course of my illness, I became fascinated by ancestral nutrition. This is a rigorous - but accessible - study of the health and diet of Pacific tribal peoples and the implications for those of us in the Western world.

    Morita Therapy

Dr Morita practised in 20th century Japan, using an innovative approach to treating anxiety disorders based on re-engaging in normal behaviours continously, steadily papering over and quitening down the brain's anxious circuits. This can be a highly effective method. You can find it encapsulated in his own writings or in those of one of his modern-day followers.

The Diagnosis & Management of ME/CFS, 3rd Edition

    Dr Sarah Myhill

Although more based on Dr Myhill's clinical insights than ME/CFS research, this is a highly valuable addition to the library of any ME/CFS patient. The third editon adds even more value.

    Healing Is Possible

    Dr. Neil Nathan

A highly lucid handbook with a range of focussed treatment strategies based on Dr Nathan's clinical experience.

A superb and accessible guide from one of the best in the business.
